Drummer and percussionist Kevin McDonald's performance credits include Dave Liebman, Mark Turner, Paquito D’Rivera, Miguel Zenon, and Lee Konitz in international venues including Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, The U.S. Library of Congress, JEN, The Midwest Convention, Le Poisson Rouge, Bimhuis, and The White House. McDonald has collaborated with groups ranging from the Limon Dance Company to the Amherst Symphony Orchestra, served as Percussion Principal for the 2012 Disneyland All-American College Band, and was selected to perform in Carnegie Hall's 2011 Professional Training Workshops directed by Brad Mehldau. McDonald currently serves specialized presidential support as drummer for the U.S. Navy Band Commodores jazz ensemble. A Graduate Teaching Fellow instructing coursework in both Percussion Techniques (MUS 170) and World Percussion (MUS 148), McDonald is completing a Ph.D. in musicology at The Catholic University of America.
